*To determine linear footage you need to simply add up the length, measured in feet, of all the joint lines that you will be sealing, or use multiplication if you have many seams of the same length.  For example suppose one of your exterior walls is a rectangle shape, there are 16 joints and the wall is 20 feet wide, then you multiply these to get 320 linear feet of total joint length for that wall. For triangular or trapezoidal wall areas, you can measure the width at the ‘middle.’  Then you add up the total linear footage for all walls to get your total linear footage.
